Downtown Pismo Beach musts:
The Pismo Beach Pier
One of the most recognized landmarks in Pismo Beach. Located just steps from our hotel, the Pismo Beach Pier stretches out over 1,300 feet into the great Pacific Ocean. There's a small bait shop towards the end of the pier that sells waters, sodas, and some snacks, in addition to fishing bait, shell necklaces, key chains, and more souvenirs.
A must-do in Pismo Beach is to walk to the end of this classic wood pier and take in the gorgeous coastline views. Located adjacent to the pier, you'll also find public restrooms, showers, volleyball courts, and children's play equipment to use at your leisure.
Old West Cinnamon Rolls
With its sweet, contagious smell of cinnamon rolls baking in the oven from blocks away, you can't miss Old West Cinnamon Rolls. It's a true California original - created by Betty Clemens over 40 years ago at her family home in Shell Beach. Today, these delicious cinnamon rolls are still handmade and baked fresh all day using Betty's original recipe. Visitors from all over the area are lured into this Pismo Beach bakery, which also offers coffee drinks, pecan rolls, and other delicious sweets every day at 6:30 AM.
Splash Cafe Pismo Beach
Did someone say award-winning Clam Chowder in a warm, sourdough bread bowl? Yes, please! Opened in 1989, Pismo Beach's Splash Cafe is one of the oldest Pismo Beach restaurants. They're known for their Clam Chowder, which explains why they sell over 30,000 gallons of Clam Chowder every year! This restaurant is truly a Pismo Beach landmark and also offers burgers, sandwiches, chili dogs, fish 'n chips, onion rings, and more.
HotShots Billiards & Family Entertainment
Take a break from the sun at HotShots Billiards & Family Entertainment, which is located in the heart of Downtown Pismo Beach. With 14 pool tables, air hockey, video games, and arcades, there's fun for the whole family! They also offer a great beer selection and basic food like burgers, fish 'n chips, mozzarella sticks, pizza, and sodas. Don't forget your change to fire up the jukebox!
The Scoop Ice Cream Parlor
Gather the little ones and treat yourself to The Scoop Ice Cream Parlor. The only ice cream parlor in Pismo Beach, this place will truly take you back in time with its old-fashioned decor and giant ice cream cone sign.
A Pismo Beach staple for over 37 years, The Scoop Ice Cream Parlor features 33 flavors of Dreyer's Grand Ice Cream, numerous toppings, sugar or waffle cones, ice cream sodas, sundaes, and other creations - all topped with real whipped cream!
Wheel Fun Rentals
Pismo Beach is a classic beach town - famous for its Monarch Butterflies, sand dunes, and beautiful sweeping beaches. With the help of Wheel Fun Rentals, visitors can see our coastal beauty from their wide selection of bikes: Surreys, Deuce Coupes, Choppers, Quad Sports, Cruisers, Tandems, and Tag-a-long Bikes! Or, try their Fun Cycle, a 3-wheeler that's custom made for Pismo Beach.
Hotlix Candy Store
Hotlix is famous for selling insects as food and no, we're not kidding. Select from chocolate flavored insects, insect candy, insect suckers, or just plain insects. Even if you're not into eating insects, Hotlix Candy Store also offers regular sweets, including caramel, candied and chocolate covered apples, and other yummy treats.
